11A – Idea Napkin No. 1
1. My name is Rogelio, a junior currently studying Business Administration.
I would define myself as the curious type, I am always trying to find solutions
for every problem and trying to figure out how things function. My skills are
found in different areas of expertise, I can say I am really good at playing
basketball, this activity has given me the opportunity to obtain a scholarship
outside my country in California to play for St Genevie High School. A year ago
I got a degree in General Science, while at the same time my lifeguard
certification from the Red Cross. My aspirations is for one day to become a
great manager for a big company, then opening my own businesses. One of the
biggest projects I have in mind is to create a solar panel company, which would
be a great fit for me since I will be having a degree in business and the other
one in science, I would like to be the kind of boss that is more seem like a
leader, leading employees to achieve great personal goals and the company’s
goals.
2. What I am offering to customers is not only the commercialization
of solar panels, but also the services of installation, electricity control and
maintenance. This product will target customers who are trying to save money on
electricity bills, while at the same time, those who are interested in saving
our planet from pollution that are created by carbon generated by normal
sources of electricity.
3. The reason why I think this product will be great for the
market is because usually solar panel companies only sell their products, they don’t
really help their customers with the other services I provide. My target is
principally people from California, this state will soon pass a law that
requires solar energy as a source of electricity, also, has no taxation for customers
when buying these products. My hopes is to expand this business to outside the
state, a great example would be Florida, since solar ray exposure is perfect
for this product.
4. People care for different reasons, because they want to
save the planet and because they want to save money are the biggest causes customers
would be interested in this service. Customers would be more than happy to
invest in a product that within ten years it will save them more than 9
thousand, on average, on their electricity bills and will have control over
this.
5. My customer service would be the thing that would set me
apart from everyone else, also the variation in products, since different
houses require different amounts of energy, therefore different products.
Currently prices for solar panels can be really high, I will try to optimize
the best price for a good quality in our products.
I believe that all elements of my opportunity fit together,
having in mind that the product I offer benefits everybody that uses it can help
my business grow. This product doesn’t focus on age, gender or any other kind
of categorization. The only ones that wouldn’t be within the ranges of market
would be those ones who don’t want to save money in the long run but rather save
at the moment and also people who rent apartments and are constantly moving for
one place to another.

I really hope you pursue this further because of the significant impact you'll have on people, and the planet. I also like how you mentioned you have a background in both science and business. This business idea is a perfect use of both those skills. Great post!
